The city of Vrondi was the largest of all. It housed all descendant kind but none more than the Sol. The green natural flow of life and energy was everywhere you looked. Yet it was structured to still resemble organized architecture found elsewhere. It was the upper districts of the city that looked more polished, refined, and divine. The golden plates that made the streets marked the beginning of the journey to the realm of Vrondi's castle. It stood out amongst all the greenery and even the heavenly golden glow of the upper district.
The castle was crystal, reflecting the sun's light back in a shining display of colors. Even the vines and gigantic flowers that were glowing in its energy, becoming the only thing solid in the merging light of the castle. That and the seraphim knights that flew around the castle like hawks looking for prey. It was clear the seraphim were strongly welcomed into the arms of the Vrondi kingdom as soldiers. But if one looked they too walked the streets without fear.
"The time has come." On a heightened stage stood, with a council of elders behind him, king Vrondi. His form was bright but reduced to a visible state. One that allowed one to see the subtle emotions on his face. Even his long white hair seemed like real follicles, bound by gravity to remain still the same as his clothes. Even still he floated only inches from the ground as if he were weightless. It was known to be a common occurrence for the King to walk as if he were a living descendant. But this time was different.
"There will be those that will fight for themselves. There will be those that fight for others. Regardless the only thing to do is to push forward, only after doing so will you look back and see what could have been done differently. Unfortunately, we have come to such a time." The people before him bowed to his presence. All royals, their decorations were light but were rarer than stone. Fresh plants, flowers of exotic beauty in various sizes made their attire. Though the Sol did not wear much often they did place what they wore in keen places.
The King however only wore monk-like trousers and boots. All of which glowed with a ghostly aura that made all he wore seem white. It would seem his clothes were a part of him and made of pure energy. His clean face had no signs of hairs or aging, in fact he seemed much younger than the elders behind him. Eternal youth it must have been, only at the cost of no longer having a body.
Yet as he spoke and stood before them he seemed real, almost like flesh. "Chaos. Divinity. We have been blessed and cursed with both. There is only one thing true. We exist to balance these two and bring forth a dimension of unity! It is time I told you all the forbidden truth I have found long ago..!" He closed his eyes for a moment to gather his thoughts. He opened his eyes with a bright flash before them, his eyes glowing entirely.
Lights appeared around them all. Different colors, shapes, but most were circular. It was like the universe was being formed above them. There they saw a stream of light moving through the universe like an asteroid soaring to some far off destination. "When I was journeying through the void beyond our realm I witnessed many things. I saw chaos everywhere. Pieces of what may have been and what could be forever lost there." Various colored lights went past the stream, it was becoming clear now this was Vrondi's representation of himself.
"It was only after I found another world did I realize what was happening." He came upon a world, its light leaking from it in hundreds of pieces as it broke apart. His small form being dwarfed by the planet before him. Then it was seen emerging from the world. The head of a dragon. "I saw a beast that could not be stopped. It tore through all with an infinite hunger. It surely was the embodiment of chaos and maybe the true form of all realms... A true god. But then."
Next to him appeared an angelic form. "A seraphim spoke to me. Far out there." He looked puzzled but intrigued. The angel's face became more visible and was smiling gently. "She said her name was Arkalai, a watcher for the first seraphim and a daughter. This will make her one of the first descendants and one of our ancestors." The two forms held hands and the setting suddenly began changing as the lights began to swirl around. "Arkalai the watcher, without me asking, took me to see their new realm."
The lights spread and grew softer, imitating clouds. Then it became more structured like temples. Soon a heavenly display of a perfect city in the sky was shown. It displayed seraphim flying about all around. "This was the realm of the divine. A realm created by the first seraphim. There I was able to hone my ascension. There I spoke with what remained of our ancestors. In truth, it was a beautiful realm but it was small. It lacked the bounty we have known here even in a scarred world."
"The great devourer, the beast was called. It made other worlds inhospitable. Efforts to find a new world was thwarted by such a force. Yet with only so much prosperity within the divine realm they were forced to not breed and fight as best they could to keep what they had. For they were visited by demons, beings from the chaos realm." He looked at his hands now. "Despite how vile the deeds some descendants do are we are not a part of the chaotic nor divine realms. We are in between, the same as our souls." He sighed deeply. His eyes no longer glowed intensely white, returning some character to them.
"But these demons. They were merciless and their hunger reminded me of the great devourer. I fought them many times in my rise to perfect my ascension and return to this world. Once ready I was left with parting knowledge. To try my best to keep this world as pure as possible. To maintain the balance as best I could. For if I failed all would be lost." He looked to the ground a few strands of his hair falling over his face.
"Nuxta has risen to show me my failure. Having already taken my armor he now asks for the other kingdoms to surrender." He shook his head and looked back up, pushing his hair back his brows narrowed into a more serious and aggressive expression. "It seems Nuxta has been burdened greatly by keeping the balance of this world's remnants. So much so he has not been able to speak with his family in the divine realm. Long ago when I was there the first seraphim no longer existed."
The crowd could be heard gasping quietly. Their eyes and ears spellbound and transfixed on the king and his words. "It seemed it was all she could to create both the realm we exist in and a home in the divine realm for her first children to reside in. Nuxta was likely left here long ago to keep his eyes on us. So I have agreed to surrender to Nuxta, knowing that he will have no choice but to believe in our unified power to restore the world and give our ancestors a true home. Then we must consider what can be done about the great devourer. A threat that will one day seek the power we hold." He bowed to his own people briefly as they began to rise to their feet clapping for their king. Fear in their hearts but the tears in their eyes showing their invigorated spirits willing to keep moving forward regardless.
"Perhaps this was what it meant to be a god in this world...."
