Appearance: Rian is a man about 5’10” tall with pointed ears and skin of a somewhat dark teal-green. His eyes are a kind of hazel-gold. His flamecolored hair is interrupted by two largish symmetrical horns—which tend to get caught on things at inconvenient times—adorned with roses and ribbons. As he travels extensively outside of Vrondi, he usually wears clothes: light leather armor, a comfortable tunic, boots, and deerskin leggings. His belt has more than a dozen glittery objects attached to it.
Physique: Rian is slender, lithe, and agile: he has a dancer’s figure.
Abilities:
• Plant Manipulation: Rian’s plant manipulation skills consist mostly of growing flowers, but he can make a very mean, very thorny rosebush if pressed. If he’s in a really bad mood, however, he can only grow thistles and dandelions. Persuading extant plants to extend themselves or recoil is a somewhat easier task for Rian, but he is still only kind of average at it for a Sol. (-5 Stamina per activation.)
• Bright Light Resistance: Growing up mostly on a channeling school campus, Rian is accustomed to both the bright lights typical of a Vrondi day and bright lights from less natural sources (i.e. students’ accidents and experiments). It would take a truly exceptionally bright light to render Rian temporarily unable to see.
• Mental Communication: When staring into the eyes of someone they can both hear each others thoughts. (-5 Stamina per activation, only works on those who have sight, 5 Foot distance.)
• Hot Blood: Can resist cold a bit better than others.
Spells:
• Illusion/Light – Illusory Clones: Rian can make up to three illusory copies of himself and/or anyone he knows very well. He mainly uses this to create backup dancers during his performances. The copies can move as Rian orders them to, but they are unable to produce sound. (-3 Soul per copy, clones can only move 10 feet away from the caster.)
• Evocation/Light – Fairy Lights: Rian can create small orbs of light at will, using them to enhance his dance moves and catch the eyes of his audience. They last for about 5 minutes, or until Rian dismisses them. (-5 Soul per bundle of 10 small light orbs, can be conjured anywhere in sight up to 30 feet away.)
• Conjuration/Light – Meadow Melody: Able to conjure small flowers around them that continue to appear even as they walk when playing music. These Flowers produce a pollen that fill the air, making those who inhale it more susceptible to persuasion. (-5 Soul per activation, lasts for 5 minutes.)
Pet: A small cat with an affinity to plantlife with little antlers. It can teleport from one nearby tree to another.
Faction: He’s kind of a wannabe Magoi, but his performance isn’t anywhere near evoking the “honed and controlled” divine chaos he admires so much. He has at least one relative who is a Magoi mage. Job: Rian’s occupation is perhaps best described as “Estafos’ most mediocre pop star.”

Experience: Rian grew up in Vrondi, descended from generations of talented mages. His parents were both skilled mages: his father a teacher at a channeling school, and his mother a member of the sorcerer army. However, when comparing himself to his siblings and cousins, Rian always felt like an inadequate mage—if he was able to conjure a single flower, his older sister would conjure an entire meadow and his younger brother would conjure a whole rosebush. Subsequently, Rian left home at the tender age of sixteen, after failing to be admitted into the top channeling school in Vrondi. While moping about being the family disappointment, he met an older Lassa minstrel at the Rest Easy Bar, who quickly persuaded him to join the life of a wandering entertainer. As a teenage pop sensation, Rian grew in fame as he produced annoyingly catchy earworm after annoyingly catchy earworm under his mentor’s guidance. He has spent his entire career singing, dancing, and generally performing at venues and events all across the continent, occasionally evading crazy fans. Despite the relative popularity of his song, he is actually proudest of his choreography. He often enhances his shows with illusion magic.
Motivation: Rian wants to prove to his family members back home that he is, in fact, a capable mage… even if he’s different from his cousins and siblings. He wants to use his talents to entertain people, but if it would help him achieve his ends, he wouldn’t hesitate to enter combat to prove himself.
