"The universe was once one being, alone in a void. It chose to expand the chaotic innards of its infinite space crashed and burned, froze, and spun all to dust. But nothing was lost. Its darkness moving every undetectable piece along a path of infinite renewal. It was in equilibrium that all things became yet another part of the grand order of chaos. But within the chaos was potential for the other half of the dark void, divine life. All life can be considered divine, though how it manifests may give you a reason to disagree.
Regardless, it is in life's defiance of the void that it holds the true characteristic of being life. This is the start of free will. With free will we defy the mindless god of chaos and erect monuments to celebrate our very existence. Nuxta has threatened our continued existence, that in and of itself, is enough. We must continue to defy equilibrium. So the next generation may know what true life is!"
Standing in the center of his people who encircled him was the King of Nero Sleeth Kaine Mythue. All the royals held their glasses of fresh crimson high. The King's words marked the start of Nero's choice to openly defy Sophia. So when the day passed and night came the message of Nero met Sophia's doorstep first. A blade of shadow, its smokey aura would surely cut deep into the soul of any creature, it was a legendary weapon. Yet it was given for a single message.
The other messages began to arrive at the temple of knowledge. They came from the skies, each one a dragon rider from their respective kingdom. Gaia came first. The scroll once reaching Sophia's hands from her valued monk allies. "From the Kingdom of Gaia. Your words have reached our ears and we are formally replying to let you know our desired goal is to one day have a peaceful world. One without conflict and unity. Even with our dragonkin. We see you as an elder of us all and respect your choice to ally with Nuxta to see to it we have a peaceful resolution to this conflict..."
The letter went on. "However. We have a history of our own that dates back to the dragon war same as you. We lived under the same sky and made choices that affected what parts of the world we were in. Nuxta cannot be trusted Sophia, even if the words he speaks are true his nature is to hide in the shadows, and once revealed he does nothing but upset the balance. We ask for an audience with you and Nuxta great Sophia. If you can please tell Nuxta to cease his destruction of our lands and prove he is as you say, one seeking for us to unify."
The letter ended and another was presented. This one was from Fotia. "From the Kingdom of Fotia, King Magnoxx Hanoxx himself speaks these words. Listen well dragon. None know more the will of fire than I. This said I can never be extinguished. If Nuxta is such a fool as to say together we can defeat him then alone I surely will eliminate him. The lands will be purged of his curse. All that defy me will be burned in the purifying flames. Do not test me.
I have faith in only being's words and that's the will of the flame. However, I do seek a council with this Nuxta. If you may present the time I will arrive and see for myself this so-called will of his to unite us. Until then you will not have my blade nor my support."
With the end of Fotia's letter, another was handed. This one did not require reading as the scroll's words lit up with a magical flare. Before Sophia the lights of the words displayed the figure of Tydra Nept, the fair queen of Tearia. She bowed gently before speaking. "Oh, great Dragon of Knowledge we are thankful for your message. We seek to renew the world with Nuxta and see everlasting peace. I believe as you do that we can become better than we once were. To that end, I require a council with the other kingdoms and Nuxta himself. Only then can I assure my people that Nuxta is true and that peace is an option." She bowed again before the illusion vanished, the scroll rolling back up to be taken away.
Finally the last scroll. It opened but had to be dropped immediately. The scroll had on it the drawing of a summoning circle. Emerging from its glowing form was King Vrondi. He stood midair and looked deeply into Sophia's eyes with a very serious expression. "The time has come. There is something you must know that not even Nuxta is aware of. It may change everything. So first we must tell Nuxta we are in agreement with him. But first, we must gather the kingdoms once more to speak to Nuxta. Here, at your temple." He floated around a bit and landed and began walking.
"I ask you only this. Then I will reveal what it is I know. Tell the god of death to give this world one year. Within this year we will decide the best course of action. We will seek to eliminate the sin from this world to help him create a new one without fear. But he must remove his curse from the lands for us to do so. Tell him this and plead for us all once more." He turned to look at Sophia before exiting. "This may be the only way he can avoid a battle that will surely destroy what's left of this world and its future." He then began to turn into multiple balls of light that shot out in high-speed streams out of the temple and into the sky like another star.
The world's new reality was becoming evident in the lack of nomads and farmers in the outer lands. The curse spread and only made once peaceful beasts into wild savage monsters. The world outside of the towns and cities of the kingdom were inhospitable. But after several days of this torment, they began to recede back to normalcy. Soon Nuxta's curse seemed like a thing of the past. Nomads began to return to the lands to farm and the beasts that were unnaturally changed were slain.
The lands and waters once infested now were healthy once again. The sprites, fairies, and nymphs could be seen again restoring the natural surroundings to full health. Most importantly the movements of the red hooded Therosi grew less prominent across the lands, all except for Nero. It seemed there was a new recovery, yet how long it would last or why it happened was unknown to the majority of the populace. Many determining that Nuxta was defeated by the coordinated efforts of the Kingdoms armies slaying the beasts and great dragons he used to threaten them.
